| The feature most emphasised on
the 9th hole when viewed from behind the green is
how far the trees on the left project out into
the fairway closer to the green. Many a player
has hit a tee shot along the left-hand side of
the dog-leg, only to find that the second shot is
blocked by these trees which cannot be seen from
the tee.
If the tee shot is kept to the right-side of the fairway, a relatively
easy approach will result, although the steep front bunker hides
the base of the pin. The bunkering on this hole was always severe
enough, and wasn't altered by Mr. Jones.
