From the green, the steep slope in the fairway stands out.

It is over the bunkers at the top of the hill that the tee shot must be hit, if the player wishes to try to drive down the hill. Line is key, as the tee shot is being played at an angle to the fairway.

While the approach is much shorter from the base of the slope, the risk of finishing part-way down the slope with a very uneven stance is high. The safer play is to the top of the plateau, leaving a mid- to short-iron approach from a level stance.
